Wednesday Keynote Presentation: The Ubiquitousness of Lifestyle Medicine: A Presidents Panel with AMA, APA, OMA, ACOG, ACSM
In an unprecedented gathering, leaders from the American Medical Association (AMA), American Psychiatric Association (APA), Obesity Medicine Association (OMA), American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), and American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) come together to explore the transformative role of lifestyle medicine (LM) as the foundation of all healthcare. This panel, moderated by current ACLM President, Dr. Padmaja Patel, represents an historic moment—one that reflects the growing recognition across medical specialties and disciplines that root cause resolution through lifestyle interventions must become the first-line standard of care.
Presidents, president-elects, and immediate past presidents of these respective organizations will gather to discuss the unique opportunities to influence the future of lifestyle medicine’s role in health and health care. This session will highlight how each specialty is embracing LM, the barriers still to overcome, and the collective opportunity to unify around a shared vision: a world wherein lifestyle medicine is the foundation of all health and healthcare.
Learning Objectives
- Discuss how leading medical specialty societies are integrating lifestyle medicine into their clinical and organizational priorities.
