Saturday Pre-Conference Workshop: Creating a Lifestyle Medicine Toolkit for Pain Relief & Well-Being

Chronic pain affects nearly 20% of adults in the United States, often serving as a gateway to other physical, emotional, and mental health challenges. This epidemic, which disproportionately impacts women, older adults, and individuals with comorbid conditions, calls for innovative approaches rooted in lifestyle medicine. This workshop equips healthcare providers with practical, evidence-based strategies to address chronic pain and its associated challenges, including anxiety, depression, and stress. Participants will gain actionable tools that not only improve patient care but also support their personal well-being. This workshop focuses on empowering healthcare providers by introducing tools grounded in the six pillars of lifestyle medicine—nutrition, physical activity, restorative sleep, stress management, social connectedness, and the avoidance of risky substances. Additionally, expressive therapies, environmental strategies, and nature-based approaches will be discussed to provide a holistic approach to pain management.
