Module 2: Environment
Description: This module explores how environment shapes health and longevity through the Blue Zones environment-first approach. Instead of focusing solely on individual behavior, Blue Zones strategies prioritize designing environments that make healthy choices easier. Participants will learn how social, physical, and policy environments support long-term well-being and reduce chronic disease risk. The module introduces the Life Radius® concept—a framework for healthier communities based on where people spend most of their time—and provides an overview of Blue Zones Project®, initiatives which have transformed U.S. cities and towns through sustainable changes in infrastructure, food systems, social connection, and more.
